THE CHALLENGE

To create a new website to improve the company's
amount of scheduled classes and new students

Cia. de Dança Arkadah is a dance school from São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. The company was founded back in 2008 and offer classes to dancers of all ages, like ballet, jazz dance, urban dances, baby classes and others.

PROJECTS AND RESULTS

pesquisa

o primeiro passo foi fazer uma reunião de kick-off com a diretoria da companhia e entender quais eram os objetivos de negócio para esse projeto. após validadas as nossas metas (mais alcance e mais matrículas), fiz uma pesquisa de benchmarking para ver como empresas concorrentes se comunicavam em seus sites e o processo de matrícula ou agendamento de aulas online.

wireframes

após coletar informações e referências do mercado, construí os wireframes, levando em conta os objetivos da empresa em cada uma das telas. junto com os wireframes, fiz o fluxo do site e o styleguide com as novas cores da identidade visual da empresa. a ideia aqui era deixar o site com ar mais moderno, por isso as cores são mais vivas e os componentes mais quadrados.

protótipos

aprovados os wireframes, chegou a hora de dar mais cara aos protótipos usando os componentes do styleguide e fotos profissionais feitas pela empresa. todo o copywriting foi revisado e pensado para atração de novos alunos. também destaquei um ponto forte da escola, que sã os espetáculos, inserindo vídeos dos eventos em uma das telas. outro ponto foi a inclusão de um formulário para agendamento de aulas.

desenvolvimento

todo esse processo ficou documentado no figma, assim como o styleguide. além de todo o conceito de design e experiência, também sou responsável pelo desenvolvimento no-code do site na plataforma Wix, onde o site está hospedado. a etapa de desenvolvimento ainda está em andamento, por isso ainda não temos resultados de nossas métricas (agendamentos e acessos ao site).

Blocks & difficulties

Low UX and Design maturity

Because it was a new area, I had some difficulty on introducing the theme within the product and tech teams. Before this, all of the process and software flows were built by the dev team, that did'nt bring any user experience vision to the projects. Becaus of that, when I tried to improve and apply some changes on our routine, I foun it difficult to fin support by POs and product specialists. The solution was to make litte improvements that showed positive impact soon. That way, I could show UX value to the company and inside the solutuion.

Low seniority and strategic vision (me)

This was my first experience as a UX Designer, so I still didn't have a very strategic vision about process and projects on the begining. Also, I wasn't having help from a more experienced Designer, like a senior. That's why all of the process and projects were being tested on practice. After some time, with a better UX background (and a lot of study and networking with other designers), I felt that I was more prepared and confident as a designer to try out new methodologies and work on my pitch to the product team.
